Does anyone know why, as of this morning CO dropped DSM down to 1X daily until April 5th? I checked the loads yesterday for the week and there were 2 flights daily to DSM. Then today I checked it and they were down to just 1 flight until April 5, to when it goes back to 2X...WTF?

that seems odd to just have 1x for an entire market...is it because of the new CO/UA partnership that they figure pax could be better routed on UA through ORD and DEN? Does CO operate their own station in DSM or does UA handle CO flights now? Seems like a waste of money and resources to keep a station open for only 1 daily flight

CO has been down to 1x randomly in the past, especially in the slower seasons. Why so I have no idea.

Next flights: WN DSM-LAS-PHX, US PHX-SJD. Return: US SJD-PHX, WN PHX-MDW-DSM

As someone had mentioned, probably something due to the whole UA thing. Also, FL is offering DSM service now (both in their own metal, and some flights in partnership w/ SkyWest)

Yes, travel out of DSM increases substantially in the summer.

It's funny they're reducing the service until April 5, right after the spring break season. But remember, this is a long route on an ERJ-145, it can't be terribly profitable.

It appears to be a possible computer glitch. Because flight 2568 is going tonight but you can't list as a non-rev. Same thing happens tomorrow...Strange.

DSM is up 25-30% in the summer compared to winter, and while many airports are up quite a bit in the summer, DSM is especially so.

Continental in DSM is handled by American Eagle. I am not sure what you were looking at however I check everyday starting 16MAR-5APR and it shows 2 Continental flights a day between DSM-IAH.

Something weird is going on. Monday night's flight (2568) was cancelled due to crew. Yet it started out of IAH. Does ExpressJet just simply not have the crews to work these flights. Then Tuesday mornings flight (2584) is delayed 4+ due to inbound aircraft coming from somewhere....What is going on?

Wasn't there weather issues in the EWR hub on Monday that may have caused some delays or cancellations and aircraft and crews out of place and expressjet cancelled some flights and this just happened to be one of them. As to why 2584 is running 4 plus hours late I am not sure. Where does that aircraft come in from for the 9am scheduled departure if it comes in early morning it could be a crew rest or something like that or if that flight originates in DSM and it was cancelled the night before obviously there is no aircraft and they are sending one in to make up that flight.

They must be ferrying the flight in. I remember when I commuted in last week to DSM it was a EWR crew operating IAH-DSM. They must be out of position...
