I noticed that AA.com's DealFinder hasn't been updated since April 20, 2009. It shows: On a Windows 7 laptop, I typed in some airport names/codes for some of AA's new cities (CRW, RAP, FSD, TRI, MYR, AGS). All of them returned the answer "No city found". Also, AA removed one of the DealFinder icons from their homepage (but kept one on the bottom);
Why is this happening? I think that Skinkers (who develops DealFinder for AA) is rapidly de-emphasizing their Enterprise Alerts System in favor of their Livestation TV-on-PC/smartphone product. The main Skinkers website hasn't been updated in months; Livestation's website is updated often. Also, Skinkers has failed to deliver a Mac client for their Enterprise Alerts System (first promised for 2007, then Q22008, then 2009), while delivering Mac, iPhone, and other clients for Livestation. Not to be outdone, JCPenney (a department store here in the US) stopped offering their JCPToday Skinkers alerts last year.
Is AA slowly pulling the plug on DealFinder, and we just don't know it? Hopefully, if it is gone soon, AA will decide to release an iPhone/BlackBerry/Android app with a similar feature as part of the mix, as we are shifting from our desktop to our phones.
