I just received an email from AF indicating that they will begin offering their Premium Voyageur cabin on flights to IAD, LAX, and IAH. No dates listed in the email.

Back in January, I've booked a roud trip CDG-LAX on July, 5th & LAX-CDG on July 26th : premium was already available for booking.
So my guess is : aircrafts will be ready for the summer season.
May be a little out of topic : it seems that premium is very popular with.....tourists!!!!
Premium was primarly put in place for business travellers but the loads are mainly for leisure travellers.

For passengers travelling in Normal Eco BEWARE if the flight is planned with a 777 (77W or 772): when installing the Premium Eco small cabin, AF downgrades the Normal Eco main cabin, adding a seat per row thus passing from a 9 abreast to a 10 abreast config (3-4-3).
The level of comfort decreases dramatically, you’d better select another airline.
If the flight is with a 343/332 there is no change to the Normal eco cabin, fortunately.
Avoid 777 with 3-4-3 config in Y ! They are real sardine cans. (AF/KL for example)

I just booked CDG-BOS-CDG for the coming summer in premium voyageur on the A340 flight (the 2nd daily flight to BOS is a 744 without PV class). Here is a detailled list and planning of introduction of PV class on AF routes.

Concerning CDG-BKK-SGN or HAN, Premium Eco will be offered during summer season thanks to 343 aircraft but, unfortunately, won't be offered during winter season because of 744 aircraft.....that's amazing, isn't it ?

Quoting FlySSC (Reply 5): Anyway, AF is planning to resume CDG-SGN-CDG and CDG-HAN-CDG nonstop for the next winter
Quoting sscaf001 (Reply 6): on a code-share basis with VN ? (as VN is going to be a Skyteam member on summer 2010)
Quoting FlySSC (Reply 7): Indeed, this is part of a partnership with VN as they are joining SkyTeam
Hello FlySSC
this is very interesting ! Is it on AF metal or only VN metal code-shared with AF ? If AF metal, do you have an idea of which A/C will be used. The A332 would be perfect as I believe the 343 or the 777 would be too much capacity if the AF flights are in addition to the VN flights. And I suppose the A332 has the range to do this (?). Regarding BKK service, does this mean that the service will terminate in BKK or does AF plans to add a new continuing service to other Asian cities beyond BKK (PNH or KUL would be nice)

I think there is a market for people who are willing to pay more for extra comfort. I myself am one of them. Id happily pay an extra €500-€600 for PE as long as the product is what it claims to be.
