Yes, pity about that; I thought it looked great - certainly better than the rather cheap looking painting of the Pakistani flag on the tail (not, I hasten to add, that there's anything wrong with the Pakistani flag; it's just that it looked like a very cheap job).

Yes it looked like a ripp off Wooster model. I miss this livery :

It was announced last year that the colourful tails were only ever intended to be short lived adverts for the respective regions of Pakistan. A310 AP-BEB had it's special tail repainted with the standard flag shortly after.

I agree! I like the provincial tails they seem to suit the PK colours, always nice seeing them at MAN. Any news on PK's planned a/c orders?

PIA is in talks with Boeing for B737NG ,as A320 deal was abolished a year ago.
And what about an A310 replacement; presumably they are looking at the 787 as well?
...none yet. The A310 serves an important part in PK's fleet. It's the right-sized plane for many of PK's routes. That being said, the B788 would probably be the right-sized replacement.

Well, PIA needs to replace the B733 fleet as soon as possible.
A310s are not the issue for the next 5 years at least, even B743s would continue till 2014 as decided in business plan.
In my opinion PIA should opt for B788 in replacement of A310 & B748 in replacement of B743.

True, true, but I was only commenting based on the subject of the A310's...
PK owns 6/12 A310's and are directly leasing from Airbus the other 6.

I think the B748I would be just too big. Even PK's "trunk routes" doesn't warrant a B747. PK can "wet lease" during the Hajj season. B77W's are the perfect large planes for PK....

I would like to see more European carriers back in Pakistan. BA should restart KHI and especially ISB as well.
