Hello:

I have heard a rumor from friends I have the still work for Eagle that another airline is going to fly into SBP and take over the old Wings West Hangar (yes I know American Eagle had it last, but it was Wings West when I worked there). Anyone know if there is any truth to this, or what is going to happen to the Wings West Hangar.

Thanks
David

There is a new airline apparently organizing called California Pacifc Airlines...that plans to use old QX CRJ-700's. Someone posted something about this airline here somewhere.

It'd be interesting to see an airline enter the SW USA market for regional flights, as a number of smaller airports are loosing turbo service (mostly SkyWest E120-served destinations). Personally I'd prefer SkyWest to keep the E120s, but I'd fly someone else if they could give me the oddball routes that were once on the drawing boards years ago.. such as OXR-LAS, LAX-SGU (was SW E120, now only though SLC).

There was a brief post in another thread regarding QX and a SCASD grant for SBP. The post is copied below:

The SCASD grant application from SBP had QX to SMF and then onward to either SEA or PDX as one of its targets.

Additionally SBP has hopes that QX would eventually do a small maintenance operation in the old Wings West/SwiftAire hangar. In other words, SBP hopes that QX would start doing maintenance in the same hangar that Eagle left.

I found a website for California Pacific Airlines but the site for now is an employee web site that is coming soon.

Rumors that I have heard are that this airline will be based at CRQ/CLD. They were looking at the CR7 and E-175, I thought they had decided on the E-175, but could be wrong. The last I heard they were hoping to be up and running this summer…
