Hi A-netters,

I am currently with AA working in an operational capacity. I interviewed for a management position with the new YX/F9 last week. The position would be in the consolidated Republic HQ in Indy. The $$$ offer is OK (not great or poor...but better than the hourly I have at AA currently). I'm just curious of opinions out there as to the future of this venture (mixing YX/F9 along with the contract flying under Republic Holdings), corporate culture at the current company, problems the company is facing (integration being an obvious), and the financial viability of this new company. Any help is greatly appreciated as I weigh the pro's and con's of a big change. 15 years at a mainline company is a lot to give up, but the potential opportunity at a growing company is enticing.

Thanks in advance,

AA777LVR (or will it be E190/A320LVR...LOL!!)

There are about 7 Frontier/Midwest threads that discuss most of these questions. So read away.

Isn't it nice that your part of the airline isn't unionized and doesn't have a silly seniority system, allowing you freedom of movement within your industry and the ability to seek both more money and a new opportunity?

Good luck with your decision. I too have made that decision back in 2002. Do I stay where I was working or move on to SY again. After talking with my wife and a friend who was still at SY, I chose SY. The chance to move up and make a difference was just too great to pass up. I am no longer at SY due to WC injury and other factors, BUT I am always thinking about SY more then any other job I have had. I didn't do it for the money to to help rebuild an airline.
