Swiss A330-300 Route Update

Hello everyone!

I just thought I'd keep you updated with the info I have on the routes that will be served by the new Swiss A330-300s. As you may know, prior to this month, LX had 5 of these aircraft with a further 2 delivered March 2010. I contacted LX last week and they very kindly wrote to me to say that the 7 aircraft will be served on the following routes:

Zurich - New York JFK
Geneva - New York
Zurich - Montreal
Zurich - Dubai/ Muscat
Zurich - Nairobi / Dar Es Salam, Yaoundé / Douala as of summer 2010
Zurich - Delhi
Zurich - Mumbai

It means that they have a 'spare' A333 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, which they will use for any maintenance slots and slot into other routes as one-offs.

I have looked at the LX web site and it doesn't show all of these routes as being served by the A333. Either they've just not updated their system or the person who wrote to me is ill-informed!

All the rest are 7 days a week.

All of the above are true for May. Some vary depending on the time of year.

SWISS will use the A340 on some scheduled A333 routes for the time being as the 6th and 7th aircraft are delayed due to problems with the delivery of the seats. This is also the reason why no A340 was upgraded so far with the new Business Class.
