The old thread has more than 240 posts, here is the new one.
The old is there: ( http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...eneral_aviation/read.main/4556902/ )

Tomorrow, Sunday March 28th, the first scheduled A 380 by SQ will arrive at ZRH at 0700 and leave at about 1200 (daylight saving time). I guess a lot of spotters will be there again. The A 380 gate (E 67) is close to the terrace, you almost can touch it.

IMO, this is a good move! When I was on LH C Class long haul beginning this year, they offered noiuse cancelling headphones too, do you know what make of headphones these airlines use? The one on LH was of good quality!

The ones used ob LH are from "Sennheiser" one of the leading headphone makers in the world. Don't know from which brand the LX headphones are, they are a common model used on other airlines such as QF as well but they are quite good.

The A 380 gate (E 67)

I assume E67 is the gate number from a "pax perspective".

Anyone knows what stand number that is? Must be "E" something, probably somewhere in the 40s as the E20 stands are used for flights to/from USA

As I know it is the same at the E-gates: passenger perspective and stand number. It is not like at the A-gates. E 67 is on the passenger side as well at the "aircrafts side". You can read on bridges the numbers: 67/I and 67/II.

That's true. the gate is E67 from both inside the terminal and outside the ramp.

Blick once again showed their excellent research qualities in the aviation field.
http://www.blick.ch/community/flashp...atum=31032010&ort=ZH&seite=seite-1 (Page 8, only available in German)

While reporting on the updated EU Blacklist they mention Skybus of Kazakhstan and Mango Avation of the DR Congo while showing pictures of the defunct US Airline and the SAA LCC.

Title is "You'd rather not board these aircraft"

Swiss will cancel the daily BSL-AMS flight and replace it with a daily BSL-HAM flight as per May 20.

Probably too much competition by EZS and AF on the AMS route. I just flew on the AMS route for less than 200CHF return. Swiss once had the monopoly on the AMS route but reduced the flights to a daily rotation in the middle of the day-an invitation for competitors.

HAM seems to be a good solution though.

I wouldn't call it "solution", as this sounds like LX would have a spare a/c available and nowhere to employ it to.
Certainly not the case as long as so many F100's are wetleased.in.
_______
BSL-HAM then will be in competition against EZS.
In that case timings of LX should be more favourable than the EZS ones, but with only a single rotation options for business travellers are still limited - and EZS flies double daily (less on Weekend)

True, but there's maybe more to get in HAM. AMS is a bloody war at the moment, AF offers the route for around 40 Euros oneway. easyJet, surprisingly, is usually the most expensive carrier on that route.

Does anyone know why certain routes are flown by both Swiss and Edelweiss Air?

I note on the Swiss website that this route along with many others are marketed as being "SWISS/Edelweiss: jointly operated destinations".

I also note that the majority of these destinations can be considered as tourist destinations however my question is why do both airlines operate the routes and not just one of the two with the other codesharing?

As far as I can see, what you see is a codeshare. If there are destinations that are served by both separately, then it might be due to the limited number of aircraft EDW has. Recently I was on an EDW flight from HER to ZRH, but it was actually an LX A320. The opposite can happen too.
