I notice this appeared to be a one-off flight today, is it something to do with Arsenal V Barcelona in the champions league?

"Astraeus Airlines has a long history in providing Ad-hoc capacity to various clients. This includes sports charters (Manchester United, Arsenal, UK and Irish FA and many others), Military charters, show business charters (Disney, Warner Bros. etc.), varied Governmental contracts and many more in leisure and business industries."

Could very well be the team flying out.

Flight AEA817 was operated by EC-KTG, an Air Europa Airbus A330-200.
AEA is the ICAO code for Air Europa, not Astraeus

Football charter widebodies are not uncommon at LTN...

Last week we saw a few 767-300's from Italy for the Milan Game against Chealsea.

lol yeah I know, Ive been going up to LTN since 93 as a kid. When the spectators building was open and euro 96 brought in all those planes. But an ELAL 777 and an Air Europa A330 within a week is nice.

Turkish is the official airline for FC Barcelona, but they usually fly with Privilege, B757........I think official airline is only for media purpose.......although they flew Turkish B773 to Abu Dhabi for some matches........

FC Barcelona used to fly domestic with the now defunct Hola Airlines Boeing 737-400. Now are substituing them with Airbus A320 from Spanair.

Privilege Boeing 757 or Air Europa A330's are used on European flights chartered from Chapman Freeborn if I don't remember bad...

Turkish Airlines will fly all the long-haul flights of the team as suposed the summer tour in the USA.

Regards,

Gerard

Well, it's a draw so do they have to go back on Ryanair to Girona as a slap on the wrist for not winning?

It would be well deserved... On the other hand, how will the Gunners go back to London after their sure defeat at the Camp Nou next Tuesday? Monarch?
