We all know airlines have an eye on airliners.net - now I found out that Oman Air even refers to the site on its Twitter page. Three messages refer to my recent report about a journey from Munich to Dubai (via Muscat):

Example:
"Our guest Planehunter calls us the next 5-star airline. Yes, we can and we will."

Link to my trip report:
The Next 5* Carrier? MUC-MCT-DXB, Oman Air A330

Has anyone noticed similar links to a.net aviation threads on Twitter?

I was actually in MCT this week, flying DXB-MCT (LX A333) and MCT-DOH-LHR (QR). From your pics, I have to say their AVOD are very new, and has a cunning resemblance to the ones installed on the LX A333 metal I flew on which also involved MCT as a destination. I didn't fly (and has never flown with) WY, but the service offering looks good, certainly look to be on par with QR which is of course a Skytrax 5* airline.

As a note on MCT, I also found the airport to be compact and perfectly navigatable. For the part which you did not see (arrival/departure and the landside), there is just one thing which I would improve on, and that is to have more public transport options (e.g bus/coash) for travellers. At the moment, the only form of public transport available from/to airport is taxi which is very expensive for solo traveller like myself. There are also minibuses but they only pass through the highway 5 minutes walk from the terminal and its difficult to use if you dont read/speak Arabic. I think that although this is not directly related to WY, an improvement here would improve the attractiveness of WY. As for Muscat itself, it is a very nice city and again if there could be some form of public trasnport outside of taxi and Arabic labelled minivans then that would be great.

Interesting to hear. I'm sure WY will help to improve the situation.

Thats brilliant that they read your report PH!

It is a really positive aspect that airline think they are not too big too care about what forums say.

I have not seen this recently - with a poor BA report, I believe a copy was sent to BA. It was the one with the crockery problem.

In Skytrax someone complained about Emirates, but then replied soon after that after reading the shoddy review, Emirates had contacted him and provided compensation.

Isn't it weird when A.Net reports make it to airline sites? My recent review of 9W made it to their Facebook fan page ... I wonder if they would do it again to another report I have coming up  .

Saludos,
A.

Let's hope they also notice critical aspects.
