Status Of DL 777's

I booked a mileage run on DL 15 Mar 10 to travel from 03 May 10 to 09 May 10 while I'm home on 30 day leave. I was booked on DL 17 LAX-ATL and DL 16 ATL-LAX on 08 May 10 and on DL17/4861 LAX-ATL-OKC on 09 May 10. The DL 16-17 legs were 77L and are now 76P and DL4861 has disappeared from the schedule. Where did the 77L go to?

DL16 and 17 operate the LAX-SYD leg that originated/terminated in ATL. Apparently they now originate/terminate in LAX and A/C are switched in LAX possibly to/from NRT. This schedule change just occurred and May dates were moved up as this change to 16 and 17 operating to ATL had been set for May 30.
I think a lot of folks will be disappointed at losing the opportunity to fly the T7 ATL-LAX as I understand it was a high load factor/high fare segment daily.
I think that is part of the answer. Possibly a DL person can elaborate.

The ATL-LAX 77L scheduling has changed around for May. There is still a round-trip flight each day, but it no longer directly connects with the LAX-SYD flight. The new schedule is:

DL1555 ATL-LAX 8:40a - 10:25a
DL1654 LAX-ATL 12:00p - 7:20p

The new schedule gives them the option of either swapping 77Ls or just turning the same ones back to ATL and SYD. This also means there will be a 77L on the ground at LAX all day. Not the most ideal scheduling, but the newly delivered 77L's aren't required in the schedule until June.
