I doubt it. Even being 10 tons lighter, it was uneconomical compared to the 787-8 beyond 200nm. So there is no reason for an airline to buy it, since even for the shortest haul missions, a 787-8 would be more efficient. And airports and airlines can shuffle aircraft at gates to compensate for the longer span of the 787-8.
What will likely happen is NH and JL will take delivery of 787-8s with paper de-rated MTOWs in order to keep the landing fees low.
