What a strange picture. There's obviously something on fire in the background, yet apart from a few people, the crowd seems to do their best to ignore it. And so does our cameraman, who instead focuses on the C-133. Anybody knows what was happening here?

It's obviously a public day at the base, maybe there was a fire fighting demonstration in progress, hence the smoke. There is definitely no panic.


After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

If its an air show, they may well have just done a fake bombing run or attack (They have done that at Waddington once or twice)

I presume this is some kind of Independence Day celebration looking at the date of the photograph.
