I'm starting to plan my annual trip back to the US and have been pondering booking AF 006 CDG-JFK. This is their A380 route which is suppose to operate everyday except Wed. When I looked for availability between June 21-25 on AF's website all that showed were B777s on the route. Anyone know why the A380 isn't in service during this time? Are they using it for extra flights to JNB during the World Cup? My return flight will be the first week in July and here the A380 is shown in the flight plan.

A330 man.

AF006 is operated by an A388 in June. Daily including on Wednesdays.

The third A380 for AF, F-HPJC, will be delivered this coming week and will enable AF to operate AF990/AF995 CDG-JNB-CDG DAILY with the A380, and AF006/AF007 CDG-JFK-CDG also Daily including Wed.

During the World Cup, AF will add 3 x Weekly flighs (AF994/AF997) on CDG-JNB-CDG with a B772ER.

Lufthansa is planning to have their official A380 inaugural fligth in June to Johannesburg taking the German football team to the 2010 World Cup. There will be a few 380s flying down there, I suppose EK will send some down to Jo'burg also.

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Well you always have your return flight on the A380. But it maybe a computer glitch.

I'm quite sure they will - they're the main sponsors after all! JNB is going to be busy during the time.
How well equipped is the airport to handle the Whalejet?
