Apparently fighter jets were deployed! Glad to hear the attempt (if reports are true) failed. Bad news for air travel and the new rules to follow, yet again!

UA flight from IAD-DEN. Quarantined on ground in DEN in remote area. Air Marshals on board reportedly stopped it. Man with Qatar Embassy claiming immunity detained onboard.

If he was carrying a diplomatic pouch then it was exempted from advanced screening. You can x-ray it, but it cannot be opened.

Nope! Cavity search will be required next!

Anyway, sorry, not a joking matter. This sucks. The guy has diplomatic immunity, and he is in "custody" and not arrested! which means he can be freed to go home! Now, if that is true (given Qatar is our so called ally, with huge oil an natural gas reserves, not to mention our new bases there) it will be very irritating to see him walk! (again, I believe in innocent till proven guilty) but this diplomatic immunity crap bothers me! Lets say the guy didn't have explosives, still tried to start a fire on the plane! He is a diplomat, so he is mentally capable of understanding the law of the land! They should arrest his ass.

But seriously. I'm amazed no one has come up with a below-the-ankle explosive scanner yet. Unfortunately, it appears to be becoming an opening market
