Last year I posted a thread about AC introducing 77W during winter season for YYZ-SCL-EZE and now it seems they will use them again for next winter. Before 77W they had their own individual flight # and now bringing back B77-300ER to South America. I checked it on the airline employee's website. Its good to see they are bringing back the triple 7s.
AC92 YYZ SCL TH 09 DEC 23:45 15:45+1 77W SCL EZE
AC93 EZE SCL FR 17 DEC 17:35 06:10+1 77W SCL YYZ
AC90 YYZ GRU TH 09 DEC 22:30 11:20+1 77W
AC91 GRU YYZ FR 17 DEC 22:30 05:45+1 77W
Also its good to see they bring back triple 7 to Sao Paulo as well.

This seems to be a smart use of their resources. During the IATA summer, they have a lot of possibilities to Europe with the B77W, but during the winter, the best is to allocated such valuable resource to South America. The other option would be to split EZE and SCL into separate operations.

So does AC still use the 767s on these routes during the IATA summer schedule? Also, what are the frequencies (for both seasons, and will they continue to be same plane services to both cities or will they receive dedicated flights?

During our summer season in the northern hemisphere AC will continue to fly YYZ-SCL-EZE using B763 while winter time they will continue using B77W. In the past they did designated their own flight YYZ-EZE and YYZ-SCL both operated B763 but decided to use the larger a/c for YYZ-SCL-EZE during winter season.

Can't I get a B777W to GRU in the summer as well??? PLEASE!!!!!
During their Summer season our Winter season they will deploy B777-300ER but as for year round service I don't think they can support that service unless they can guarantee high volumne of cargo year round. Thats alot of seats to sell during low season.

Quoting dc10srule (Reply 4): Anyone think GRU can support the 77W year-round??
Yes and no. Yes, there's market but because AC offers just a 763 during the big portion of the year, passengers fly to other markets thru US gateways, in special if they are looking to GIG, CNF, SSA or MAO.
To run a year-round flight to GRU, they should think about a tag-on to GIG (however i would say it could be better to see 2x B763, one going to Sao Paulo, one to Rio de Janeiro)
Also, as mentioned before, there's better use for the 77W on the summer.

Quoting RP TPA (Reply 7): How is the cargo market on this route?
AFAIK and looking just to the quantity, AC transports a very good amount of cargo considering the mix 763/77W.
Difficult to say about the financial performance as we don't know how much is light or heavy cargo, big or small items.
