I have identified the company in the image - but have no idea how it is connected to having a DC-10 pitched to them. The photograph was issued by McDonnell Douglas as stamped on the back of the photo - thanks in advance:

Burndy manufactured electrical connectors.

As Carl (474218) stated its Burndy and "Burndy Blocks" are very commonly used on airliners. My guess here is McDD had this made up for Burndy to promote their supplier agreement with them, but was never to be an actual DC-10 aircraft sales agreement. The DC-10 looks good in those colors actually.

35 years of American Trans Air/ATA Airlines, 1973-2008. A great little airline that will not be soon forgotten.

Thanks for the info - hadn't thought of the "created to promote their partnership angle" - I so very rarely collect airline memorabilia that portrays fictional airlines - but the color scheme was exceptional so, I made an exception and acquried it.

Nice and I am the same way, but I probably would have purchased it myself for the same reasons. Where did you get it by the way?

Was on eBay - chance find, as I always gravitate to postcards, just caught my eye and was luckily the winning bidder. Have seen this a few weeks ago as well - but it was already closed, so perhaps it will show up again - good luck!

Its really a unique picture, however, as Christain (TZTriStar500) knows I am not a real big DC-10 fan.

Something more like this is what I collect:

LOL, I know. I collect both, but definitely lean toward the good ole TriStar. I cherish my nicely framed original 18" X 24" promotional watercolor of a Nigeria Airways TriStar500.

Looks like they tried to copy the koru from Air New Zealand:

That has been Burndy logo since the at least 1970.

If you look closely you can see it is a stylized B.
