Does anyone know if the airbus has got the sleeping/rest room for pilots behind the cockpit, like the 747, where they can relax for a few hours on long haul flights...

I'd love to hear from you...
Mike

As far as I know there are lower-deck facilities for both - the crew and passengers.

Yes they do, at least for AC.

They have a small room for pilots to sleep behind the cockpit and it just fits two people. There's also another big one on the lower deck for cabin crew to rest.

Regards,

Wolfy

The lower deck crew rest area is right behind the landing gear. Before the landing gear is the front cargo space and there is cargo space behind the crew rest area too. I didn't see any rest area for pilots on CX's A340. I once had a chance to go into the cockpit, but I didn't see there is any bed behind the cockpit.

When you go to the cockpit there is a sliding door on your right, just before the cockpit door. That's the cockpit crew rest (on our Sabena A340). The equipment of that crew rest is a little bit different for A340-200 and A340-300, but mainly it looks the same : two "beds". The cabin crew rest loks like a "cargo container" placed in the forward part of the lower aft cargo compartment. You can access it from the cabin via a door and a stair situated near the door 3 left (behind the wings). The LDMR (Lower Deck Mobile Crew Rest) has 7 bunks . We have this also on our A-330-200.
Hope this helps ...
Regards

Sabena ... Never to be forgotten (12 years already , what a shame !! )

Just found out tonite that there are two beds (one on top of the other) right behind the cockpit on CX's A340. The CX's A340 I went on tonite was B-HXG.

Only problem is there is a galley next to the FC rest area which can be quite noisey!

Yes, it was yesterday nite, May 27 that B-HXG came to YYZ. Too bad, CXflyboy got off at ANC. If he came all the way to YYZ, I might have been able to see him in person.
