This afternoon C-GRYV a ROYAL Airlines A310-300 returned from a month of "C" Check in France...It arrived around 6pm local (YYZ) time....This plane is now in FULL Canada 3000 LIVERY. Surprisingly enough it is also the plane that looks best in the C3 colours At first I did not like it, but after you look at it for a little while it doesn;t look half bad, even in C3's UGLY colours....

Ok ok, I admit, there is worse out there, but I'm not a fan at all of the C3 colours.
I really hope they come out with something new!

I think if they keep the white fuselage, and the red engines as a base, and work with that, there's lots of great stuff they could do! Let's all cross our fingers, and hope they will do that.

In the mean time ...

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! They're ruining our A310's!!!!!!!!

Hey the A310 might look nice who knows lol  Smile

'Fraid I won't/can't jump in with a personal opinion other than the fact that both the name and the colours of Canada 3000 are a long and well thought out process that has garnered world recognition and reputation.

Changing one's colours/names is not something done lightly. Anyone here a fan of the speckled tails sported by BA over the last few years? A marketing disaster.

C-3 is still a relatively new entrant into the world market. Changing it's face at this stage in its history may be disadvantageous.

Just an observation!

I guess they cannot hold the title of having the youngest fleet in Canada anymore. What do you all think?

I agree with Buff, before they go through with a livery change it has to be well planned and thought out. Canadian is the perfect example of what happens when a company changes its look. When they got rid of the CPair and CPair orange colours they lost a lot of international recognition. C3's colours "Charter like" as they may be are well known around the world "From Vienna to Sydney" as the motto goes so what ever they plan to do it must be researched, planned and well marketed.

Air 2000 colours used to be the same as the Canada 3000 colours are now...

They changed it for the tapestry scheme a few years ago.

I think that the Canada 3000 scheme is very dated and actually quite boring, and they really should think about a new image.

I think that this is a job for PUCK and his fantasy Livery zoo!

It's funny that Nuno, (CaptainGomes) Was saying how upset he was about the plane being painted in C3 livery, and this morning he is on that very plane working YYZ-CUN. LOL

Yes Slawko, I worked on that airplane, and it was the worst A310 flight I have been on, in terms of things not working. We were half hour delayed because of the back lavs, then during flight the middle lavs stoped working, and then the other back lavs, and the intercom worked fine on the ground, then stopped working in the air. Boy oh boy, I'll bet if they kept the Royal colours, it would have worked fine  Smile

hehehe.

But I'll be honest, I have to grudgingly agree with Slawko, that it is the best looking of the C3 airplanes I've seen.

HEHEHEHE Well I have to hand it to the AIr France mechanics...they really out did themselves this time!!! A plane returns from C check and the next day all those problems...and I'm not sure if Captaingomes knows this but the nav system was not working properly and so the plane was restricted to CAT I operations only. Good thing the weather got better in YYZ for the return flight...

Can't wait to see the pics (I hope an a.net contributor got a picture today). Did any of you notice if the engines were all red, or if they had the stripes on them? I can't recall whether C3 is sticking with the all red....

Next flight.... who knows.

they are going back to the old stripe scheme. and RYV has the stripes on it... RYL on the other hand has plain red engines...although it has no other markings on it just the C3 titles on an all white plane.

C-GRYV was shot on finals to 05 today with Nuno on board (and Boris Stec, yeah!) by myself and Darcy Stevens. The engines had stripes yes. The weather wasn't too good but it was photographed none the less as Elite 2442. A Russian Gov't IL-62 came in right before it as well. Hey Nuno, did you ride j/s?

I have photos from Friday of C-FRYL at Dorval in its Canada 3000 paintjob. If I remember correctly it has a plain white livery with red engines and Canada 3000 titles. The tail is all white. I will submit some photos of it this evening.

Does anyone know how long Royal had C-FRYL since there are no photos of that 737-200 on Airliners.net. It seems like Royal used to use that reg. for a leased 757.

Cheers,
Felix

RYL went into service last week. It has been in Quebec city since march, and was painted in full ROYAL colours, but then re-painted in the half C3 colours. It is a former southwest plane sister ship to C-FRYG. And yes RYL was once a 757 regi.

Don't know about Canjet but at ROYAL

NAJ, NAU, RYG, RYL, EIM, and NAX are operating for Pax. NAP is doing Cargo while DCC is being fixed, CDG adn JLT are also doing cargo. NAQ has only 5 hours left in it's life so I don't think it will fly anymore, not for ROYAL Anyway. RYY, and RYH were never intended for long term ops with ROYAL and are in the process of being returned to USair. So that is 6 ROYAL planes in regular operations and three at Cargo with one, very broken plane, so that is 10 total. Plus I think CJ has 6. So 16 planes.

31 Slawko : Cargo announcements should be soon, don't have exact dates. NAQ will work probably till it is finished with its 5 hours and parked, which is too bad c
