There is a Southwest 737 parked at the US Airways terminal right now. Shuttle gates closest to the street. Anyone know why?

Major League Baseball charter - for the Cubs, playing the Mets tonight. That is where they typically park the charter so they can use the Shuttle gates, departure and arrival area.

I've seen WN birds there before, most recently at about 5:15 AM a few weeks ago.

Interesting. Close to the street . . . but so is the MAT.

The US terminal is so under-used these days . . . why not?

They park them at an unused US gate

The Cubs fly UA and have for years,

so I would guess the WN is for something else.

That WN plane RONs at gate 22 daily at the US terminal.

Edit: Just to clarify, the WN aircraft does not board or deplane at the US gate. It gets towed to and from terminal B. And as a sidenote, Delta sometimes utilizes that same gate to deplane when they do not have an extra gate. They also do not deplane into the US terminal; they are bused to terminal D airside.
