I haven't heard any news recently on the development of the CRJ1000. I had always dreamed of seeing it in 9E/NW colors but that is long gone now. When are deliveries expected to start? What's the deal?

There is a short comment at the beginning of the April issue of Aladierno, Air Nostrum's inflight magazine. It is available as a PDF file at airnostrum.com, but I couldn't access it today. It says that the first production aircraft is painted in Air Nostrum/Iberia livery and will be a very economical aircraft as its empty weight is only 232 kg per seat. Entry into service is in late 2010, I think...

I believe the CRJ1000 is a 12-seat stretch of the CRJ900, so that would make the CRJ1000 an 88-seater (12F+76Y) compared to the 9E -900. Is there a huge pay difference between flying a regional 76-seater vs a mainline 100+ seats? Would it be such a catastrophe if pilots would get $5 dollars more per hour to fly an 88-seat CRJ1000? Wouldn't those 12 seats bring in a lot of revenue to compensate?

Looks like flight testing got going in March of this year after being grounded for some time due to problems with the fly by wire rudder system. Here is the Link.

Funny, I have always dreamed of seeing every CRJ in Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Budweiser colors.

That's too bad! No chance of my May flight MAD-NAP being upgraded.
