MAD-EWR Continental (have to stay 1 night at EWR in order to get the connection)
EWR-HNL
HNL-EWR-MAD
DC-10 and perhaps 767-400

MAD-ORD-HNL Have to spend a night at ORD
HNL-ORD-MAD
A340-300 & 767-300

DELTA
MAD-JFK-LAX-HNL
HNL-LAX-JFK-MAD
767-300 and 767-400

BMI/ UNITED
MAD-LHR-HNL (LHR-HNL stops at LAX)
737 & 777

AIR FRANCE - DELTA
MAD-CDG-LAX-HNL
320-777-764

BRITISH AIRWAYS- JAL
MAD-LHR-NRT-HNL
757-744-747

Why don't you go:
BRITISH AIRWAYS/AA

MAD-LHR (BA)
LHR-LAX (BA)
LAX-HNL (AA)

this route should be possible, I think.

I would go on AA MAD-MIA-DFW-HNL or on CO MAD-EWR-HNL. Looking at the prices, it is $1,000 cheaper to connect on AA via MIA/DFW than ORD.

I think that CO via EWR or AA via ORD sure sound the easiest. Those routings are very direct and sound nearly hassle-free. Land somewhere after a long NONSTOP flight and have a relaxing layover, (no tight connections) then take another NONSTOP flight and arrive rested.....

The Continental option has the problem in that you would have to spend a night in Newark and nonstop
flight to Honolulu from Newark departs midday. I am
inclined to suggest you fly via London, go to Los
Angeles and connect in LAX to HNL. It will be a very
long day for you, but you will get to Hawaii the same
day you depart. Fly from MAD to LHR in the morning,
then depart LHR to LAX, arriving 11 hours later, and
catch a late afternoon flight to HNL, which will put
you in to Hawaii in the early evening, just in time for
what will be a well deserved night of sleep. You can
do IB/BA to LHR, BA to LAX, and AA to HNL.
