Hi there,

To date, my longest non-stop flights have been MIA-CPT and LAX-HKG which both took 14hrs 35min. However, in August, I will fly ATL-JNB with a total time of 15hrs 25min non-stop.

GUM-HNL-7 hours (DC-10)
HNL-EWR-10 hours (DC-10)
Total of 17 hours, one long trip. Not one PTV to be found, I did much sleeping. The fine service provided by Continental Airlines did make the long trip very pleasurable.

Hey Thornton, I also have flown the Mia-Cpt non-stop on SAA. That was long. I've also flown HKG(Kai Tak) LAX on CX but only from HKG. Was only about 11.5 hrs due to the tailwinds. Please post a trip report about your future ATL-JNB flt. I believe that is the world leader now in terms of miles.

If it is a single flight, it would be HKG-YYZ (direct) with CX. Total flight time = 15 hours

If it involves multiple flights, I once flew from:
SEA-TPE-CKG-SIN-PER on 2 days in a row for a total of 33 hours including transit stops. I remembered by the time I reached Perth airport, it was like 2 in the morning and the cab driver asked me where I flew from..... and I could only tell him that I couldn't remember

SFO-HKG nonstop on SQ 14.5 hours. That's usually
the first leg of the trip. I have done
SFO-HKG-SIN-BKK-PHS for a few times. Total travel
time is pushing 30 hours due to a lot of transit
time in SIN and BKK.

I could make it a little shorter by doing
HKG-BKK instead of HKG-SIN-BKK by hoping on TG,
but I would rather fly SQ even though it'll take
longer.

My wife did SQ/TG change over last trip she flew,
and she said it as quite a let down when she got
on TG J after SQ P (F) on SQ 1.
There's simply no comparison. She said that
she would rather connect through SIN for the
next time just to stay on SQ all the way to BKK.

I know the longest commercial flight in operation is JFK-HKG, but I don't know what is the longest POSSIBLE flight.

By the end of next year, we'll have SIN-LAX, SIN-SFO and SIN-YVR non-stop.

I don't know how SQ can sustain those flights since they make heaps from their NRT-LAX, ICN-SFO, ICN-YVR, TPE-LAX and HKG-SFO routes.
