LAN Argentina To Start AEP-GRU

Yesterday, LAN Argentina inaugurated its first international flights at Buenos Aires Aeroparque (AEP) with the launch of three daily non-stop flights between AEP and SCL. LAN Argentina's second international destination operating at AEP will be São Paulo-GRU. Recently, LAN Argentina received approval from ANAC to operate two daily frequencies between AEP and GRU. On 06/07/10, LAN Argentina will launch two daily non-stop flights between AEP and GRU utilizing the A320.

And seems the project to start GIG has been postponed. Lets wait and see the new flights to be requested to ANAC (Brazil) as so far, i never saw such requests.

Also, the change of airport will allow LAN to eliminate the transfer of material between Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Ezeiza, thereby reducing costs. Along with the operational benefits, by operating from the center of Buenos Aires, LAN can now compete directly with the new strategy of Aerolineas Argentinas in the Southern Cone market. LAN will maintain its codeshare with TAM on flights operating at Ezeiza as well.

I know, I was just remembering how the opening of AEP is negatively affecting EZE.

On 06/19/10, LAN Airlines will increase frequency on the SCL-GRU route to 4x daily. In regards to GIG, I wouldn't be surprised if LAN Perú launched LIM-GIG-LIM daily...
