Jazz Air's pilots to vote on a possible strike

Jazz Air (Air Canada Jazz) (Halifax) may be facing a strike by its pilots. The Jazz Master Executive Council (MEC) has announced that they are conducting a strike ballot of the membership to back contract demands. Jazz pilots, who are represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), have been negotiating with their management for a new contract for more than a year.

The FAs are also conducting a strike vote this coming week.

Jazz Air is also facing a possible strike for flight attendants due to labour conditions as you have mentioned mainly due to pay which caps out at $26 (after 5 years of flying).

Its going to be interesting especially with Jazz flying on behalf of Thomas Cook Canada this fall/winter.

It is thegreatRDU.... for flight attendants at least when you do the calculations and find out you're a flight attendant for 14$/hour you kinda realize oh crap...and living in Canada's most expensive city its really rough. 12 guranteed days off turn into 2 since you have to pick up a lot more flight to make ends meet. And since for them getting on with Jazz won't be a guaranteed job -- its only temporary for 8 months apparently.
