Yerevan, Armenia (EVN) will be getting a whole set of new flights in 2010.

First of all Armavia (U8), which recently launched a new website, www.armavia.am, will be starting or has already started the following routes out of EVN.

Delhi
Larnaca (via BEY, no 5th freedom rights)
Tel Aviv
Tehran (begins June 1)
Rimini (seasonal, begins 22 May)
Thessaloniki (seasonal, 14 July til 15 September)
Warsaw (begins June 23)

They also resumed twice daily and daily service to TBS and SVO respectively. Armavia is now one of only a handful of airlines with scheduled daily service to all three Moscow airports.

Armavia also got its 3rd A320, MSN 772, registered EK-32006, bringing the total aircraft in the fleet to 8 aircraft (not counting one A319 reserved for the government of Armenia, but operated by Armavia).

Also, LO will begin service to EVN as well, with twice weekly service from WAW, with E175, on July 1st.

They have launched Tehran many times. Why do they keep on relaunching if it's not profitable?

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

Would it make sense to make it a Yerevan-Tehran-Esfahan? There are a lot of armenians living there as well?!
Plus doesn't Caspian fly the Tehran-Yerevan route?

I never knew ROV was a short car ride away from Moscow ! Or that you could buy a oceanfront condo in Marseille looking over the Atlantic !!!

Yes, Caspian still serves EVN.

Has there been any news on Armavia's attempt to get a plane to fly to LAX?

I think most of us know it's a pipe dream that will come about maybe 50 years from now, but it's still interesting to watch their attempts to get it off the ground.

Definitely a pipe dream. They talk about acquiring an aircraft with the legs to fly the route, but nothing is in the works, nor will it be. I just don't see it happening, at least not successfully. Besides, LAX to EVN is well served by AF and SU through CDG and SVO.

I've worked a few flights recently LHR-EVN and we (bmi) get a lot of connecting pax from VS and UA LAX flights.
