Aviation Letter is showing N27734 to be transferred to Continental Micronesia. Anyone know if any other ones are headed to Guam ?

My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

I did a little checking and see that aircraft #720 is already in Micronesia. It flew on flight 940 today (5/16/10) HIJ-GUM as well as some other flights. Looking at photos of aircraft 720, I see it's been painted in Star Alliance colors. Kind of suprised that CO would send an Alliance painted aircraft to CS.
If CO is sending 4 73Gs to CS, maybe the rumor that co would take back fewer 738s means that 3 738s will be sent to the mainland, netting CS one unit.
I wonder if the swap out of aircraft is somewhat delayed due to the seat issue with new delivery 738/739ER aircraft sitting at Boeing.

In addition to A/C 720 and 734, A/C 735 and 736 are being transfered to Air Mic.

You are correct, A/C 227, 235, and 288 are transfering back to mainline CO.

We had a meeting with our VP of Tech Ops last week and he stated that Air Mic is going to be folded into United after the merger. They will no longer operate as a seperate company. That means there will be only one operating certificate under the United brand. Of course this plan could change at anytime.

Is it broke...? Yeah I'll fix it.

Do you mean 228? I'm pretty sure 288 is not GUM based while 228 is.

Yes, I meant A/C 228. And it's already back in the continental U.S.

For a moment I thought this thread was about Ryanair (CEO the vociferous Michael O'Leary aka Mighty Mick!)

What are the reasons for swapping 73Gs for 738s? Are the 738s running into range problems on the longest Air Mike routes? Is traffic on Air Mike decreasing? Are the extra seats more profitable on mainland routes?

I would love to see the new UA open SFO to GUM then and using GUM to branch more out into Australian markets that couldn't hold a USA flight but could do ok with the GUM flight and the US feed
