Global Glut Of Seats Promises More Airline Losses

This was in the Toronto Star today and it takes shots at a few things from the columnist's perspective that the (North American specifically) airline industry has way too much capacity and is essentially glutonus and also claims that mergers such as the recent one with UA and CO are not beneficial to the industry.

The only think I really agree with is that not as many airlines that have had financial problems have closed their doors.

What say you to the ones on this site who know more about the industry that I do?
