After signs and speculations that Norwegian would close its WAW-base (they currently only have 1 aircraft left) it has now been confirmed that it will close September 1st.
The routes to Malaga, Alicante, Palma, Split, Dubrovnik, Varna og Bergen will close and the 45 employees based in WAW will be offered a transfer to either OSL, ARN or CPH
Norwegian will though continue its daily OSL-WAW and twice weekly SVG-WAW flights

Interesting, does that present a growth oppourtunity for Wizzair to fly BGO-WAW in addition to the service 3 times a week from Gdansk? They tried Katowice recently (started 28th March 2010) but that service seems to have vanished despite being the latest "New Route" announcement on the Avinor web site.
