Hello all,

Any updates on the current status of DL's DC-9 fleet?

Fleet numbers for the -30s, -40s, and -50s? Current total and projected numbers, preferred.

Are the -30/40 series close to phaseout? How many -50s are in DL colors? What type is on MSP-ORD this summer?

I would love to see DL have the "3 generation MD tri-fecta" (DC-9, MD-88, MD-90), continue on. I scheduled a 4 leg trip, all MD-90s, but the achor, which is now a DC-9. Looking forward to it!

Thanks for the responses.

Regards,

There's nothing quite like a tri-jet.

There are about 12-15 DC-9-30's still in service currently.

N1799U
N8923E
N8925E

7 DC-9-40's in service
34 DC-9-50's in service

The last DC-9-30 flight is going to be on Monday September 6, 2010. The last flights that evening are EWR-DTW, ORD-DTW, MSN-DTW
The last DC-9-40 flight is going to be on September 30, 2010. Not sure of the last routes since the schedule isn't finalized yet for Sept.

Starting in July, the DC-9-30's are going to be limited to DTW flying.

MSP-ORD sees a mix of equipment including CR9, E75, DC-9, an MD-90, and A320's
In June there is one DC-9-30 on MSP-ORD, the rest are DC-9-50's. ORD-MSP is only DC-9-50's. In July, there are all DC-9-50 plus of course the other aircraft types.
