For the very first pics of Impule's B717s in new Qantas colours at Tullamarine Airport, go to this link.

You might have to do a bit of cut and paste:

What do you think?

Saw it from a distance today, sitting all by itself in the cold, outside the QF maintenance base at Melbourne Airport.
Qf should be fairly happy that they have once again gazzumped AN/ANZ & V.B. Geoff Dixon has certainly been dealt all the right cards!

BZF - Big grin

ps. Pity about the 200 people who lost their jobs, after Impulse ('keeping the bastards honest') Airlines ceased flying main trunk flying!

Ansett Australia - (was) One of the worlds great airlines!

Just when we all thought that the next new aircraft type to sport the Qantas Livery was going to be the Airbus A330-200, here is the B717-200 instead. I think it looks fantastic, and I just love the red Link after the Qantas Name.

Go QantasLink - Absolutely.

The 717-200 looked so good in the Impulse livery, its sad to see another airline leave the sky.

Is it shadow or is there a light shade of grey on the fuselage extending up from just below the QantasLink titles???? Have a look closely at Jason's great photo:

If it is 'real', it's the first time I've seen it on a QF plane. Is it part of the new QantasLink livery or a particularity to the 717?

I think the line is the different colour where they have painted over the Impulse Blue, but not actually painted the rest of the all white fuselage. As the second picture shows above, they actually removed the Impulse Name, rather than repaint the entire aircraft. Hopefully the aircraft will get an all over paint job one day to remove this colour difference.

Thanks

As much as I dislike Qantas, I have to say that they really have an attractive livery. It looks good on Impulse's 717s.

Nah, it needs to have the big QANTAs at the front to balance it out, or what would have been better is if QF replaced the flyin roo with the cocky on all the domestic A/C

I agree that the QFLink titles need to be bigger. It's too white and boring otherwise

Impulse seemed like a great airline, and I liked both of their liveries, but I think the 717 looks excellent in Qantas colors! I think it might look even better if they'd move the QantasLink titles above the windows and enlarge the Qantas part though.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy Go Qantas!

Its an acronym for Queensland And Northern Terrortorial Aerial Service, hence QANTAS (another reason its all in caps).

The plane looks nice, but get rid of the "link" and make the titles a little larger and above the windows and put "The Australian Airline" where the current titles are. That would make the plane perfect.

It ain't all in caps any more, the airline name has been incorporated as Qantas Airways for four decades.
