(3) Three ASTAR Air Cargo 727-200's ferried from Kingman (IGM) to Marana (MZJ) last Friday and Saturday. I believe ASTAR's entire 727-200F fleet was parked at IGM after the cessation of DHL services. These ferry flights showed up as operated by ASTAR, not some ferry company or a new purchaser.

Does anybody have an idea what's going on with these three planes? Are they being prepped for sale to someone? IGM is a facility where aircraft are broken up but so too is MZJ.

The ASTAR 727-200's ferried were:
N763AT
N764AT
N765AT

Interesting, I'd like to know as well since these are ex-TZ aircraft. They were at one time leased from a joint TZ-Boeing company called BATA Leasing. My guess is they are unfortunately going to meet their fate in MZJ.

35 years of American Trans Air/ATA Airlines, 1973-2008. A great little airline that will not be soon forgotten.
