They still are.. SkyKing has 3 a/c based in ACY.. 249TR, 251TR and 147AW.... 252TR is also here, but that seems to be a "part" plane at the moment...
Starting in June, a company called Falcon Air will be taking over for SkyKing flying MD-80's.. I never heard of them before this, apparently they are based in MIA, but hiring ACY based f/a's (anyone interested??) I checked FLightAware and their 3 letter code is FAI, but never see planes flying

They are the airline that had the wet t-shirt contest incident in 1998, went bankrupt in 2006 but was able to continue operations, but now they have just a couple airplanes for charter operations. Their website now is http://www.flyfalconair.com/.

I was unable to find the article, but SkyKing did file Ch. 11 earlier this year, but has been able to keep flying. The planes based in ACY are basic coach set-up, holding 122 passengers.. They do have 500VP parked here which is one of the luxury ones.
Sky King was also the 50's T V show with Kirby Grant as titled role. It took place in Arizona and was a
'modern' western.
His planes were Songbird and Songbird II

Is SkyKing still based over by Sacramento, CA?
Quoting Plainplane (Reply 6): Sky King is a luxury charter company operating a fleet of several 737-200s, they now have a 737-400 now too
Just because they have one aircraft outfitted as a VIP aircraft, doesn't put them in as a luxury charter company. In 2007 I can attest to the fact that their 737-200 fleet at the time was a bunch of flying crap with half the cockpit labeled with MEL.

I flew Falcon Air Express on an NCAA charter back in 2008 (SDF-MSY), the aircraft I flew on was actually an Aeropostal MD-80...needless to say it was a pleasant surprise to see that aircraft parked out on the GA ramp. The aircraft as I remember did have F (around 8-10 seats) and was in decent shape.

Quoting nkops (Reply 13): 3 of their aircraft now are ex-Pace airplanes... and are configured in all coach.. not sure which ones are VIP except 500VP.
N500VP is an ex-WN bird (witness the 737-2H4 type, H4 is Southwest's Boeing customer code). Wonder if the smell of peanuts sometimes wafts through that fancy new VIP interior
