So I know these happen all the time but figured I would share with you all because it doesn't happen a lot up here. ANC is not that busy of an airport...
The article states that the 747 was taking off on RWY 25R while the 319 was landing on RWY 14. Because the 14 runs into 25R at the end, is this why this was a close call? According to the article, the 319 initiated a go-around, which according to procedure would have also put them close to the 747 as it was taking off. So I am not sure if the 319 initiated the mis-approach because of the 747, or they did it for some other reason which caused the close call.
