Dear all:
I've heard that beginning tomorrow (June 1st/10), Colombian Air Force's commercial branch SATENA will introduce some changes in its network:
1. They will create a hub in Cali (CLO). Does any one knows about possible new routes?
2. They will introduce the route EOH-BAQ-EOH operated by an ERJ-145.
3. They are pulling from the two daily ERJ-145 flights from BOG to PPN (Popayan) and vice-versa. This route has increased in number of passengers transported nearly 37% in 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009. Satena argued that loads are very good, but competition against Avianca and Aires on the same flights is forcing Satena to offer fares below their operational costs on the route. Satena will keep its PPN-GPI (Guapi, located in the Pacific Coast) - PPN operated by a D328 aircraft.
With the number of passengers increasing, I can see AV or 4C adding additional frequencies from BOG to PPN.
4. They are pulling from their 3x weekly flight from CUC (Cucuta) to Ocaña after 8 months of operation on D328 aircraft. Loads were extremely poor.
Any comments about Satena's immediate future, considering that they are AV's regional code-share partner?
