Anyone at AS got any info on the status of the new SAN-PVR route announced to be starting 11/12/10? I'm a bit nervous that something is wrong since the route app was approved on May 20 -- nearly 2 weeks ago -- by the DOT (DOT-OST-2010-0103-0003) and the flights still do not appear in the booking engine nor in the schedules at AS.com. In fact, I had expected the flights to be bookable as soon as the flight was announced in April but carrying the disclaimer about "Subject to approval of the Govt...", which of course they weren't
My thought is that the Mexican govt has to also approve the service but, for some reason, hasn't and AS is still holding out on listing the flights for sale -- disclaimer or no. (And I would expect the Mexican Aviation board would jump at the chance to see a new tourist route to their country start!)
Otherwise, I sure hope AS opens the books for sales soon so we have a good chance of high early-booking numbers! I have no idea how long this process of applying, approval, and accepting reservations usually takes but I DO know that a lot of lead time for any new intl route is important.
BTW, I noticed that in the body of the approval notification, "Delta" was referenced as the carrier that expected to start the service on 11-12-2010! (And this was on a "corrected" issue of the notice!) Anybody know something that the rest of don't?

I think our new schedule comes out tomorrow, or at least by the end of the week. It might pop up then. I don't know for sure though so don't take my word for it.
