LH Cargo has requested to the brazilian ANAC rights to serve GIG as following:

EFF 01JUL10

GEC8274 - FRA-DKR-GIG-VCP - Mondays - MD11F
GEC8725 - VCP-DKR-FRA - Mondays - MD11F

GEC8276 - FRA-DKR-GIG-VCP - Fridays - MD11F
GEC8727 - VCP-DKR-FRA - Fridays - MD11F

So after many years, apparently, GIG is getting GEC service back. Hopefully the pax division will follow suit soon.

Interesting development and it seems that Thyssen steel unit (CSA) begining production will begin also a lot of demand for spare parts and other materials from Germany. At the same point LH is anticipating to JJ new flight to FRA which would capture good cargo from FRA and all over Germany for sure.

New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !
