My family is arriving on DL around 4:40pm Sunday at JFK, scheduled. Is there any chance that an A-380 will be around then? My 6 year old wants to see one. My wife who will be traveling with the kids won't recognize, she has other priorities - reasonably. Thanks.
I am assuming that there will be several 747's and 777's around for him to see as well if he pays attention.

Yes, the AF A380 should be on the ground at that time. It's scheduled to arrive around 4pm and departs for Paris again at 7pm. It parks at Terminal 1, which is next to the DL terminals, so keep an eye out while taxiing in. It may also be visible from the roadway or from the Airtrain if you take a loop around the airport.
If you don't mind a bit more effort, there is a food court in Terminal 1, upstairs before security. You can get there from the Delta terminals via the Airtrain. No guarantees, but you should have at least a partial view of the A380 from there if it's at the gate.
