Ia Orana all !

I can confirm, I was supposed to operate AF 674 last night and was cancelled at the last minute. All flights are cancelled as the refuellers are also striking. This is a general strike. Airline staff are not striking but we can't operate international flights as there are no firefighters...

My brother who is a firefighter at AKL is on holiday in your neighbourhood at the moment ( RAR ) ... I am sure that he would be very happy to come in and break the strike for you . ( just not too sure how you would get him from RAR to PPT though with the airport shut )

Ia Orana Kiwiandrew !

I wish we could, it'll mean I can go home as I am stuck in LAX and my roster has changed and rather than go home I'm going to operate our LAX-CDG flight on sunday... All the excitement of working in the airline industry !
I think the ATR's can fly and only the Air Tahiti domestic and international flights are operating I believe but for how long if the refuellers are now striking ?!?

How can anything operate without ARFF available?? I know here in the US if you fall under a certain index, you cannot operate certain aircraft types, so I would think with no ARFF, you can't operate at all.. Are rules different over yonder??

next flights ACY-ORD-DEN-IAH-ACY on UA

There are a few firefighters working. we apparently need 7 minimum for the widebodies and there were only 5 not striking when we were supposed to depart last night. today only 1 was available so no flights I think...

Is HA offering refunds to people who were supposed to travel on those flights?
