I'm wondering what the status of Continental Micronesia is likely to be after the merger? How much real independence does the subsidiary actually have in the first place? Are we likely to see a United Micronesia setup, maybe full integration or something else altogether?

They'll likely have their name changed to reflect the merger. Don't expect many other substantive changes though. It will be integrated in the new airline as it is in the old. It is possible that the combined airline will feed more traffic into Guam to try to build up that hub.
Given the high yields (and subsidies), it is unlikely they will do away with Air Mike.
