Hi All, I did a search but found nothing about this.

A new airline will be flying long haul trips from Europe to Africa with 767 metal, starting in the mid of next July.

More info here (in French):
http://www.americas-fr.com/tourisme/...-la-conquete-de-lafrique-6615.html

The airline (obviously named Oxygene Afrique) has leased a 767-300ER from ILFC (formerly belonging to Flyglobespan as G-CDPT).

edit: As a sidenote I dare say that IMO carrying the word "oxygene" in an airline's name is quite unfortunate, reminds me of oxygene masks (= emergency) or worse a fire onboard (like Apollo 1 suffered).

I tend to think of the classic album 'Oxygene' by Jean-Michel Jarre, especially as they will be flying from Paris

Nice livery incidentally, rather classy.

it's the bus to stansted (now renamed national express a4 to ruin my username)

The name is alright (I think of oxygen as being pure) but the livery is hideous IMHO. Good luck to them and I hope the VFR market is big enough.

their challenge surely will be getting traffic rights. they say luanda in the link, but the angolans will never give them rights.

Wow, you're very pessimistic with this guys... can you elaborate why ? I know there are some stones in the road for every airline in the world, and Africa is a hard market, but 12 months....

Actually, I sort of like the livery. Who owns this company? Their levels of liquidity and capitalization will pretty much determine whether they survive 3 months or 18.
