Where are the flights from BWI and (dare I say) MKE though? AirTran has usually linked new int'l markets with at least two of its hubs/focus cities. After MCO-NAS flopped, I doubt AirTran plans to add much more Caribbean flying out of MCO...

Its a good market for AirTran's customer demographics, just as I predicted a month or so ago. It can probably work from Baltimore and Milwaukee as well. Punta Cana is one of the high-density Caribbean destinations and attracts a much larger share of traffic from the Midwest than most Caribbean markets.

Good to see! Definitely FL's type of market. Wish there was more than twice weekly service during periods like winter break though. Bring on CZM, LIR, and STT as the next destinations.

That really flopped? Any info on how bad it did?
Not well when compared to a similar length market in EYW. Having two other carriers on the route doesn't help. I guess 3-4x weekly wasn't competitive enough compared to B6's daily service using a smaller plane. I still think FL will try some more destinations out of MCO to the caribbean though. SJU and MBJ do well.
