UAL: Entertainments On Board.

As you may know, due to financial problems UAL is suffering from, they have temporarily suspended the followings:

1) Godiva at the First Class
2) Mcdonald Happy Meal
3) Installing PTVs on every single seat of their B 747-400s.
4) Some other things.......

Does anyone know whether or not do they still offer table cloth for First and Business Class Travellors? Do they still have 'Dom Perignon' Champagne for First Class Travellors?

Also, does anyone have a clue, whether or not, these entertainments will come back? For example: Installing PTVs on every single seat of the B 744s.

I am sure they will come back one day when UAL has solved their financial problems. But when? Any idea?

Good answer.

I am just doing an estimation. I am sure UAL will NOT go the way PANAM went.

Does anyone know whether or not they going to have PTVs eventually on every single seat of their B 744s?

It may not be relevant, but you could also mention that they are accelerating the B727 retirement due to (overall) financial slowdown... =( Just when i was starting to like the old birds!

And you know THEY won't be bouncing back when the economy does...

Next flight.... who knows.

The B 727s will be replaced by A 320s. Sad to see that..........

What about the entertainments? Will they come back?

What makes you say they won't? Everybody thought Pan Am wouldn't go under but they did, didn't they?

You answered your own question in the first post. Right now UA's financial picture is a little cloudy. If they fix it soon they will put the PTV's in, but if it takes years and years, the phase in between the B777's and B747's could already take place and there will not be any B747's to put PTV's in.

The B 777s as well as the B 744s will be around for many years to come. Right now, they have no plan to retire them anytime soon.

They may go for the B 777-300ER as well as the B 747-400LR in the future. Who knows?

But they already stated that they are going to update the B 744s' interior.

Regards.
