Tomorrow starts operations out of the new Terminal B - I did a drive through tonite and crews were out changing signs and getting everything set up. DL 1684 to ATL was the last departure from C. It is very nice to have a new airport that is world class, spacious and modern. The sad part of course the demise of the Terminal C observation deck.

Here are some pics I took the other day during the public tours that were being offered:

The red zone is for the immediate loading and unloading of passengers only, there is no stopping in the white zone...(Ai

Nice pics. Are A and B connected? or is it still necessary to leave security as it was to get from A to C (that and walk half a mile lol) What I liked about C were the ground level gates where you had to board via stairs.

Why are people so against low yields?! If lower yields means more people can travel abroad, i'm all for it

A and B are connected via a very long walk inside the terminal, but B will have its own security checkpoint.

Basically Terminal A is gates 1-14
International Gates 15-16
Terminal B 17-28

Flew out of SJC C for the final time on Sunday night. Sad to see this one go, but it is for the better.

Do they require you to drive through Terminal A to get to B or is there a separate entrance?

No, there is a short-cut to Terminal B.

Kind of a sad day. I remember the days of a bunch of PSA 727-200's on the ramp at that building. No more walking out to the planes. But worst of all.... losing the outdoor observation deck that was still open last time I was there last month.

Thanks for sharing those pics, they are great! It's interesting to see the evolution of the airport. But too bad they never did build the rotunda, it looked like a nice design.

Boy those brought back memories! I forgot about the really old tower, which was torn down in 1994! When does demolition start on terminal C?

Soon. My understanding is that it's supposed to be gone this summer. Fortunately, the historic Millard Sheets mural that everybody thought was doomed got saved the other day:
