Hello everyone,

There is nothing in the Official Thread and there have been no posts for ages. Just thought I would ask, has there been an update regarding the 787 being at Farnborough? Will it be at the public days or not?

Many thanks,

Jordan

ZA003 is scheduled to be there, but RC503 is not. ZA003 should be on static display for two days.

Why static display only?

Boeing hasn't done flying displays with commercial jets at an airshow for a long time, as far as I know. When it does happen, it's usually an airline, rather than Boeing itself. This is consistent behaviour.

Tom.

Think you've got that wrong. The public days are the weekend of 24th/25th and show trade days are 19th-23rd.

I have my travel plans set up 19 to 22 staying at one of the plane spotters hotels along Bath Road at LHR. Will be at Farnborough the next day 20 July so I hope to catch a glimpse of the plane in flight. I hope they will do the rounds at the time they leave. Any idea what time on July 20 they will be leaving?

Tom.

It was a policy change enacted shortly after Tex Johnson did the barrel roll in Dash 80...  A good one if you ask me, encourages safety for both the flight test department and the general public.

If they have an actual 787 there, why have a cabin mock-up? Or do you mean for the public portion after the 787 leaves?

When they file their flightplan (some time on Saturday, probably), it will show up on flightaware.com with an arrival time. So you should have something like 12 hours warning.

Tom.

Yea - I was thinking for those that are unable to see the real thing earlier in the week.

At the Western end of the runway it is the bridge over the Basingstoke canal. At the Eastern end it is The Swan In pub, you can nearly touch there the wheels while sitting in the garden and having a pint.
