In the course of conversation during checking in yesterday on my return flight home to ATL from MKE the ticketing agent mentioned that FL/MKE was hoping and "expecting" some Caribbean destinations late this year and or early next year. I had not heard or seen this. She thought that destinations from MKE would be CUN and MBJ.
Has anyone else heard of FL adding additional flights out of MKE and/or including Caribbean destinations?
I have not checked yet but is their 738's capable of running any of their current Caribbean destinations?

When did AirTran get B738's? I thought they only had the DC9's, oh I meant the B712 and B737 aircraft in their fleet.

AirTran is already set to fly MKE-CUN. No word of any other int'l destinations from MKE at this time.
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!

AirTran recently applied to the DOT to serve the Dominican Republic from any point in the U.S. AirTran wants to serve the Caribbean country with "low frequency routes and will face competition from the US with the Dominican Republic being a heavy leisure and VFR market." http://www.routesonline.com/news/29/...ights-to-serve-dominican-republic/

If they were to do Dominican Republic think more Orlando, Atlanta Bwi first. It makes sense, MCO natural market fit for there, BWi can bring in the Northeast, ATL the entire network. MKE im sure would happen but not first, unless, they were wanting to be bold.

MKE-PUJ will definitely happen; unless FL does not like to compete with charter airlines. ATL-PUJ and BWI-PUJ are a given IMO. If FL wants to be bold, they should fly BOS-SDQ.

FL already flew MKE-CUN/PVR/PUJ/MBJ for Funjet Vacations this past winter and I'm guessing they're planning on changing those charted flights over to regularly scheduled service. F9 is also going to be doing MKE-CUN this winter so along with DL and FL that'll be three airlines on the route.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

They are listed as having similar charters again this year, also for Funjet.

Pre-buyout, F9 was in business with Funjet flying MKE-CUN, now FL has the deal. I bet F9 wishes they hadn't let that go now that they have a hub in MKE.

Plus FL is making some inflight changes to help keep the contracts. Flew on one of the planes with the new seats. Very nice blue leather, and the 737(which do all the contact flying) seats which use to be so hard are now thick and comfortable. Plus I heard rumors on here that BOB will be back towards the end of the year.

You are very correct. Ship 786 was the first one. I havent been on a 717 yet with the new leather but it I hear it is awesome. I was on a 737 from Sea-atl and no one was complaining about seat comfort or seats being to hard. Im hoping if the BOB rumors are true which im thinking they are that it will enhance the product especially on BWI-SEA-BWI which can easily be 6hrs.

F9 didn't sell tickets on those flights, so it doesn't make a bit of difference (unless something has changed lately).
