I took my camera out to BUR (07/09/10) and got this Boeing 727-2S7/Adv (N686CA)/(cn 22021/1617) on video still in full Champion Air colors with titles and all. I've heard it's ready to be painted to possibly be used as a VIP aircraft. Are there any others out there with titles and all? I thought some of you may enjoy seeing a classic especially since Champion Air has been out of business since May 2008, enjoy.

Great video.. certainly unexpected to see a 722 "rebirthed" for VIP work. She's kitted, so it certainly makes some sense.

Great shot Steve!
I sure loved the days at LAS when it was around 100F watching these beauties struggle to leave the ground, and then struggle to get some altitude. Those were magical days!

There are still some in OPF. I'm surprised to see a 727 at such a noise-sensitive airport like BUR.

Great to see this B-727 still flying. I remember when she, and her sisters at CA would RON at DFW on the GA ramp when they were still flying charters out of DFW to LVS, CUN, etc.

It is great to see that some of their 727s are still around.
N696CA is in a white and orange paint scheme at OPF along with the famous N697CA in full MG colors and titles. Up until yesterday N683CA was in full colors and titles until she was sadly scrapped.

Thank you for the video! I was wondering if there were any Champion Air jets still in full colors. I hope that 727 will be reused as a VIP aircraft. I still miss seeing passenger 727s at MSP.

N685CA is still in full c/s and titles in front of Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano's hangar in Cochabamba, Bolivia, since April 2008. It was meant to join the semi-dead airline's fleet together with some other ex-Champions, but 685 was the only one that made it to Bolivia and apparently with incomplete paperwork so the authorities never granted it a CofA.
N-reg was cancelled on 9/22/08, but never painted-out on the aircraft as no CP- reg has since been allocated. The aircraft will thus die "in limbo", in all likelihood.

We used to see Champions 727's at HOU quite often for sports charters. Beautiful aircraft. And Champion kept those aircraft spotlessly clean.

I should have taken a pic of the two in OPF I saw in Feb. I too remember listening to the JT8D's popping taking off @ LAS when it's 110 out. Taking up a lot of 25R,too.
