Hey Guys,
Just wondered if anyone might know what an Allegiant MD82 was doing at MDT yesterday? (Friday, July 9th)
Plane departed about 4pm, flying over my office heading to Tunica MS (KUTA).

Thanks in advance!

My glass is neither 1/2 empty nor 1/2 full, rather, the glass itself is twice as big as it should be.

Came in from Islip:

Casino charter, as Allegiant has a contract with Harrah's Entertainment to fly charters to their properties in many parts of the country. Allegiant has an a/c based at Tunica Municipal. This same a/c flew to TRI and back after the MDT flight.

Don't forget Laughlin flights too.

The upcoming Harrahs charter flight schedules are at these pages (nice info for spotters at airports that don't have scheduled Allegiant service):

Sorry, that was the old web page address for Reno. They now update the current flight schedules on the Total Rewards pages. The Laughlin and Tunica links are current.

Lets try it again for Reno.

I see in August they have a route from Newark to Laughlin, is Allegiant able to do that non stop with its aircraft?

Assuming they're using the MD-87 (which is what they've usually used for the Harrah's charters), it's doable. The standard MD-87 has a range of 2370 nm and according to the Great Circle Mapper, EWR-IFP is 1929 nm. The only other Mad Dogs in their fleet that could do it without coming in on fumes are the MD-83s and MD-88s.

Man, those birds have some heck of a range. Isn't that almost a transcon-type distance?
