Hi All,
A friend has just landed at DCA and has advised that due to an earlier Substation fire, arriving flights are having to sit on the tarmac while the remnants of a ground stop disapate.
Can't find any info other than a couple of messages on Flyer Talk. Anyone know anything more?

A friend of mine was at DCA a couple of hours ago and said that the power was out across the airport, not sure if that means to just the terminal, or the whole property.

The power failure was confined to terminals B and C, and it affected outgoing AA, DL, UA, and US flights. I didn't hear anything about inbound flights being delayed. I checked the FAA delay site several times, but it kept showing DCA as having no delays. The media said delays at the ticket counters continued throughout the day, but the security checkpoints weren't affected.
The failure was caused by a fire at a nearby electrical sub-station.
For some reason power failures happen at DCA on a regular basis.

Do they publish non ATC or weather delays?
I don't understand everything I don't know about this.
