I saw FRAR yesterday at the north end, got some shots of the left side (I already had the right side). If it was FRAA (the red tailed one) then it might have been coming back from YEG. If it was GTDC, then I have no clue what it was doing but I'd say it was FRAA. I also saw FRAE and GOKF at AC Cargo and got several shots of the left side of GOKF in cloudy but not dark clouds weather. Hopefully I can keep shooting Roots' planes even though they have been out of business for so long. I wonder why they don't just use the planes for Skyservice but I guess there is a reason.

They are all in YYZ, where did you hear anything about them being sent to Mojave? There was a roots 320 C-FRAA doing a Skservice flight to Halifax yesterday so that was probablly the return flight that you saw. I think one or two of the others are going to be leased to a European airline

Hi People!
RAA has been doing charter work for SSV for the last couple of weeks. Several trips have been completed from YYZ to YTS, YSB, YQT, YHD and YEG picking up MNR crews and taking them to the Forest Fires that are raging out of control in Alberta. RAA has also been on some regular SSV charters when the loads permit.
As for the rest of the Roots Birds, TDC will return into 'cattle-car' config and SSV colours for the winter season. RAA has the same fate, and RAR (a lemon) has been re-leased. RAE will most likely go back to LTU. I have heard the two companies are trying to reach a settlement on the early return of the a/c.
On a different note RAA has been to YQT three times in the past week and all I can say is wow! I hadn't seen the interior up until now and it is VERY nice. I am sure with more time and better planning Roots Air would have worked. There's something about a brand new airplane........with a great interior!!

WHy would LTU want a -300. The reason roots got an A330-300 from LTU is because they are dumping theirs in favour of the -200. Which reminds me, their first flight of the season was last week and they brought it a brand new airplane, everything even the breaks were still clean and shiny.

I have no idea why they would want the -300 back. Maybe they have something cued up to re-lease the a/c once it returns? Airlines will do strange things sometimes.......
